A collection of tools that I found helpful for recording screencasts for tutorials and showcases.

Screen Recorders and Tools

OBS Studio is one of the most used, free software to capture everything that happens on screen of a computer or its peripherals (audio)

MS Stream comes with the M365 package and can be used as well for more simpler setups

Lloyd's Screencast Teleprompter is a good software teleprompter.

Fancy Zones of MS Power toys help to define a certain size for the screencast windows and let the program windows snap into them

Key n Stroke to visualize the mouse and keystrokes

Captura unfortunately is not developed anymore, but it's a solid solution for screen recordings and still available.

Clipchamp might be the easiest if available via M365 subscription

CapCut - enshittified vieo editor by the tiktok parent company. Some nice AI features but it became quite expensive in the

Adobe Enhance Speech - AI Speech enhancement for voice recordings. Cleans up audio and adds some EQ, compressor and limiter, I assume.
