How to use MS PowerToys Advanced Paste with OpenRouter

Microsoft PowerToys has an Advanced Paste toy to transform the clipboard content on paste.

They implemented an AI mode early on, but it was limited to OpenAI and local LLMs. Since provider like OpenRouter.ai are very popular for reasons, it was an often requested feature.

With PowerToys 0.96 it's finally possible to use OpenAI compatible endpoints.

Possible but not obvious!

Select Add model and Azure AI Interference and insert the model name, endpoint url and the API key.

Then, when using Advanced Paste you have access to the clipboard history, select the model, write in the prompt and get a result.

So, it's a limited AI chat interface that saves the user a few copy/paste keystrokes.
